Advice for healthcare professionals on coronavirus (COVID-19) and diabetes

'Get the latest government advice on COVID-19 and what this means for people with diabetes. This includes advice for your patients to stop taking SGLT2i tablets if they become unwell because of increased risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

Share tips on staying at home and managing diabetes with your patients – including ways to get active in the home, useful recipes and how to look after your feet.


Information about diabetes tech and medicines – insulin pump warranties will be extended, replacements will be supplied if needed and patients will still be able to get their diabetes tech and medicine, so there is no need to stockpile.
