Role: Project Support Assistant

Contract:             Permanent

Location:             Care Development East, Needham Market.

Salary:                  £24,097 (pro rata to £14,461 per annum)

Hours:                  22.5 hours per week

Reports to:         Chief Executive



Care Development East is dedicated to promoting excellence across the social care and health workforce in the East of England. We provide impartial advice, support, guidance, and information to the sector operating as an independent, non-profit making organisation.

Key Responsibility -

Play an integral role in the company by helping to support project activity, as well as being the main point of contact for the team for project enquiries. You will ensure the smooth running of the office to support activities, which will include a variety of roles from streamlining processes, administrative support as well as inputting data for key projects and quarterly claims. You will be comfortable working on your own as well as part of a small team.

Annual Leave

Care Development East offers 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata to 15 days) and our holiday year runs from April to March. One additional day’s leave will be awarded for each full year worked up to a maximum of five additional days.

Pension contribution

Care Development East has a company pension scheme which complies with auto-enrolment regulations. The company will contribute up to 7% into this pension scheme.

Working hours

It is expected that the post holder would work between the core hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm 3 days per week. There is flexibility and exact working patterns can be agreed with the post holder upon appointment. The post is based at the Care Development East offices in Needham Market.


Person Specification





·        Good standard of education with 5 GCSE or equivalent grades A-C including Maths and English

·        Track record of continuous personal development

·        Qualifications in both Word and Excel



·        Ability to communicate effectively

·        Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines

·        Competent use of common IT packages (MS Office suite)

·        Competent use of Excel spreadsheets (key skill)

·        Excellent organisational skills

·        Ability to liaise at all levels and across all sectors

·        Understanding of Prince project management principles.

·        Working knowledge of MailChimp

·        Working knowledge of MS Project

·        Understanding of financial processes.


& Knowledge

·        Experience of administration work

·        Experience of project support work

·        Structured approach to tasks

·        Own car and driving licence

·        Experience of work on health and care or related sector projects
